Your People
On May 28 I put on a streaming EP release concert and fundraiser for Neurofibromatosis Northeast. By all accounts, it was a success. No glitches or internet issues, no mass miscommunications or confusion. All in all, I felt very good about it. When it was finally over and I was sitting alone at my piano, I wasn’t quite ready to believe that this enormous project had finally been brought to the world.
I had a small team of amazing people helping me bring this all to life, and when all was said and done, we were able to coordinate a newspaper feature, a television feature, and radio play for the EP release (see the news section of this site). Woohoo!
The really interesting thing that I noticed once all of the numbers came in was that even with all of this new press, it was the same people that showed up to support me over and over again. A few new folks hopped on the train, and I’m so happy to have them, but it was the ol’ regulars that showed up to support my music and the cause I care about. We raised $700 that night, plus a handful of donations that went directly to the organization.
So I guess I just wanted to write to acknowledge and thank my people. You make this all happen for me.
