Back in the Studio!

A lot is happening in our world. So much so that my mind can’t always comprehend the immense amount of information and chaos that is unfolding. For a while, I was waiting. Surely if I sit tight, practice, and faithfully keep teaching my amazing students, we will slowly find a new way…right?

In some ways, we have. With masks, social distancing, and plenty of good air flow, most of us feel comfortable enough to do the basics of life. With this knowledge and a desire to launch a project that I knew would bring good to the world (good for my heart, and good for the local musical economy), I worked with producer Dave Brophy to begin a recording that had been planned out since January, and was slated for May.

On August 18th we had a great recording session at Q Division Studios. Here’s a sneak peek of what that looked and sounded like. James Rohr joined us on piano, and Joe McMahon joined in on bass.

The concept of this collection of songs is to bridge where I began as an artist and student to where I’m going. Some of these songs are old. Some are newer. But they all share a sound of retro vibes with modern sentiments. Dave Brophy’s production influence will ensure that the sounds on this record lift even the heaviest of hearts up. I’m so proud and excited to share this music with you all.

As the record progresses I will have more ways to become involved, including ways to pre-save the EP.
